Reflection 3
My writing is most like water color painting. I like to get it right the first time. I try to do my best, do all the research and editing I need to do right from the start. I still go back later and revise or add things here and there. I just don’t understand why you would want to write an entire paper just to go and change it all. It reminds me of my parents always saying “Do it right the first time and you won’t have to do it again”. Now, of course with research papers I do gather my information and organize it. Then, I begin to add things to it. I guess that is about as far away from doing it the first time as I can get.
I do most of my writing at night in my bed. It is a calm and comfortable place with no distractions. I usually go to bed a few hours earlier than my husband, take my laptop and go to work. I can’t focus if there is music playing or people talking, I like complete silence. I used to write on pen and paper, but now that technology has advanced so much I write on my laptop. If it weren’t for my bedroom, I would never get any writing done!

Hi Lauren,
I like the water color metaphor you used. I have a hard time revising essays because I work so hard during the first draft. I write this comment, sitting in bed, getting ready to sleep, on my laptop. It’s my favorite time to sit back, relax, and let the creative juices flow.
Have a great Holiday,
Sara
